Inventory
The Inventory feature of Velosity allows the assessment of inventory levels in the estimate of completion date at Smart Quote (when enabled) and in the Production Schedule. The Inventory feature works in conjunction with Items. Items defines the things inventoried, Inventory defines how many of each, and Inventory Locations defines where the items are (one or more locations).
Inventory Locations
Inventory locations once setup would only change when new locations are added or the setup of the warehouse/yard changes. Inventory locations can be imported via Excel or created and maintained via the API

Inventory
Inventory levels change often:
- Material consumed on Production Orders
- Material received via shipping & receving from external suppliers
- Material produced internally on a Production Order and inventoried for consumption internally
Inventory levels can be maintained within Velosity or synchronized from another source such as ERP. To get started, the initial Inventory can be imported via Excel. For best user experience and lowest impact, the levels are best kept current via software that calls the Velosity API to:
- Create
- Update
- Delete
Each item in inventory is connected to a Location:
