Teams
Teams in Velosity allow you to group users together for easier management of assignments, notifications, and collaboration. By organizing your workforce into teams, you can streamline workflows and ensure that the right people are always informed.
Team Configuration
Administrators can create and manage teams through the Platform Settings. A team typically represents a department, a shift, or a specific functional group (e.g., "West Coast Sales" or "Night Shift Production").
Creating a Team
- Navigate to Administration → Teams.
- Click the Add Team button.
- Enter a Team Name and an optional Description.
- Assign a Team Lead who will have oversight of the team's activities.
Managing Team Members
Once a team is created, you can add or remove members. A user can be a member of multiple teams simultaneously.
- Adding Members: Select users from the global account list to join the team.
- Primary Team: You can designate one team as a user's primary team, which can be used for default filtering in dashboards.
Teams in Action
Teams are integrated throughout the Velosity platform to enhance productivity:
CPQ and Sales
- Lead Assignment: Automatically route new inquiries to a specific sales team based on region or product expertise.
- Collaborative Quoting: Shared access to quotes allows team members to collaborate on complex configurations and pricing.
Operations and Production
- Task Queues: Assign production tasks to a team rather than an individual. Any member of the team can then "claim" and start the task.
- Shift Management: Use teams to organize work by shifts, making it easy to see what the "Day Shift" vs. "Night Shift" is currently working on.
Communication
- Team @Mentions: Instead of mentioning individuals, you can mention an entire team (e.g.,
@QualityTeam) to notify all members about a critical update or issue. - Group Notifications: Configure notification rules that trigger for an entire team when specific events occur, such as an order being released to production.
