Administration - Service Codes

Service Codes allow ADMIN users to define and manage the standardized “Quick Add” entries used throughout the Trouble Report workflow. These codes streamline data entry for USER roles by providing consistent, predefined options for:

  • Symptoms – what the customer or technician observed
  • Causes – the diagnosed root cause of the issue
  • Repairs – the corrective action taken

These codes appear in the Quick Add lists within the Trouble Report, enabling faster, more accurate reporting and reducing free‑form text that can lead to inconsistencies.

List

The Service Codes List view displays all existing codes grouped by type (Symptoms, Causes, Repairs).

From this screen, ADMIN users can:

  • View all codes currently configured
  • Filter by code type
  • Search by code text
  • Sort by name or category
  • Add new codes
  • Edit or remove existing codes

This view provides a centralized, easy‑to‑navigate catalog of all Quick Add options used in Trouble Reports.

Detail

The Service Code Detail view shows the full definition of a single code. This includes:

  • The code type (Symptom, Cause, or Repair)
  • The code text shown to USER roles
  • Optional categorization or grouping
  • Any metadata used for reporting or analytics

This view helps ADMIN users understand how a code is used before making changes.

Add

Add

The Add Service Code view allows ADMIN users to create a new Quick Add entry.

When adding a code, ADMIN users can: - Select the code type (Symptom, Cause, Repair) - Enter the text that will appear in the Trouble Report - Optionally assign a category for grouping - Save the new code so it becomes immediately available to USER roles

This workflow ensures that new codes can be introduced quickly and consistently.

Edit

Edit

The Edit Service Code view allows ADMIN users to modify an existing code. From this screen, ADMIN users can: - Update the code text - Change the code type - Adjust the category or grouping - Correct spelling or clarify wording - Remove outdated or unused codes

Changes take effect immediately and update the Quick Add lists used by USER roles.
