Item Compatibility
Item Compatibility allows you to define relationships between items in your catalog. This feature aims to make product knowledge easier to capture and hand over, decentralizing the product setup process. By maintaining a centralized compatibility matrix within the system, product management teams can directly define how products interact, reducing the need for manual translation work during new product setups.
This is particularly useful for identifying:
- Compatible Items: Items that are known to work together (e.g., mapping operating system and hardware/board compatibility).
- Incompatible Items: Items that should not be used together.
- Recommended Items: Items that are suggested for use with the base item.
Benefits
- Centralized Knowledge: Moves away from decentralized sources like SharePoint or Excel spreadsheets into a single, accessible source of truth.
- Sales Efficiency: Sales teams can quickly look up compatibility during the quoting process, ensuring accurate configurations without needing to consult product experts for every setup.
- Scalable Setup: As more boards and components are added, compatibility can be updated in real-time, making it easier for various team members to contribute to the product knowledge base.
