SKU Item Price Breaks

In Velosity, you can define quantity-based price breaks directly on SKU items. These price breaks are used to automatically adjust the unit price on Sales Quotes when a specific volume threshold is met.

Defining Price Breaks on an Item

To set up price breaks for a SKU item:

  1. Navigate to Items and select the desired item.
  2. Locate the Price Breaks section (usually on the Detail or Edit tab).
  3. Add your price break tiers:
    • Minimum Quantity: The quantity required to trigger this price.
    • Unit Price: The price per unit at this quantity level.

How Price Breaks are Applied

When a SKU item is added to a Sales Quote, Velosity evaluates the quantity entered:

  • Automatic Calculation: If the quantity matches a price break tier, the unit price is updated automatically.
  • Tier Selection: Sales users can also manually view and select available tiers from the item's price break configuration.

Price Breaks vs. Customer Price Breaks

It is important to understand the hierarchy of pricing in Velosity:

  1. Customer Price Breaks: If a price break is defined for a specific item on the Customer Record, it will take precedence over the general Item Price Break.
  2. Item Price Breaks: These are the default volume discounts available to all customers for that SKU.

For information on how these appear on a quote alongside supplier costs, see SKU Price Breaks on Quotes.
