Line Item Templates

Line Item Templates allow you to define frequently ordered products or service configurations for a specific customer. This accelerates the quoting process by allowing you to add pre-configured items to a Sales Quote with a single click.

Managing Templates

Templates are managed via the LineItem Templates button on the Customer Detail page.

Creating a Template

Templates are usually created from existing line items or by defining a new template product for the customer. 1. Navigate to the LineItem Templates view for a customer. 2. Define the product, description, and any associated tasks or costs.

Adding a Template to a Quote

  1. Open the Customer Detail page.
  2. Locate the Line Item Templates section.
  3. Select a Sales Quote from the dropdown menu next to the desired template.
  4. The template, including all its detailed tasks and descriptions, will be added to the selected quote.

Cost Warnings

When a template is added to a quote, Velosity checks if the associated tasks' hourly rates are still current. If the global task rates have changed since the template was created, the system will attempt to update the costs and may provide a warning in the document history if certain costs could not be automatically adjusted.
